“Do the strings for Violoncello da spalla even exist?” ”Where do I get them?”
The good news are: yes you can get them.
You can get them today from several brands, potentially even from your favourite. Maybe not directly from their website though, simply send them an email, that’s all it takes.
The strings can be the traditional ones, made from sheep or cow entrails, as it has been for thousands of years and there are several makers.
Or they can be synthetic if you prefer. These too are available from couple of brands on special order.
Here is how little pile of spalla strings by Thomastic Infeld looks on my benchtop.
Two instruments to be completed this year!
